With Simple Gratitude

In a world that seems to travel at astounding speed, sometimes it's beneficial to remember the simple things. In my little corner of the world, it is often a challenge just to make it through the day without the constant bombardment of negative thoughts and ideas. I suppose it doesn't help that it is currently a Presidential election year, but even beyond that it seems that everyone is in a hurry, everyone is 'always right' and taking time to stop and assess who and where we are in life feels like a luxury rather than a daily habit. It certainly feels that way for me...which brings me to this place- the intersection of your life and mine.

My goal and my challenge to others who may do me the honor of taking the time to stop here for moment is this- to describe three things every day that I am thankful for without repeating to to the extent possible. In other words, I am incredibly thankful for my family and friends but I promise not to be lazy in this endeavor by invoking those particular blessings several times a week. Those are givens for me. Rather, I will reflect on each day about things I experienced in each particular day. What I hope to accomplish in myself is a sense of swimming free rather than treading water and just trying to stay afloat. I hope the same for you.

Having said all of that, I now say "welcome". Let's you and I travel this journey of living together, if only for a few moments.
